I usually don't use high and low rates. I just set for high rates and use exponential in my radio. However you can just set high and low rates per the instructions and switch to high rates if you feel her getting sluggish on the landing.

I think I would not use the flaperons until you get a good feel of how the ailerons are going to act on landing. Those ailerons are so small I doubt you will get much out of them as flaps. And since they tend to blank out somewhat you will just be decreasing efficiency of the ailerons when the flaperons are activated.
