As some of you may know I flew my Aermacchi MB 339 at the recent WJM with Merlin 170 power. The Merlin had performed perfectly in test runs and flew the 339 with great authority despite the take off weight of around 52lbs. Unfortunately I suffered two tubine fires during the competition, luckily neither of these caused serious damage to the model.

On returning home I sent the Merlin to Rob Rowbotham the Uk service agent. Rob diagnosed the problem as a leaking fuel manifold and has returned the repaired turbine to me without charge.

Today I received an e-mail form Gaspar Espiell at Jet-Munts with an offer to replace the Merlin with a new one if I experienced any further problems. I am very pleased with the level of service provided and hope this will reassure any of you thinking about this turbine that the level of support is first class.
