Tis true. Aqua Net in the blue can is what I use. It is basicly the same a balsarite, but in spray format. Stay away from the sented ones or you will have a bunch of guys hanging around your plane Actually, the sented ones may not do such a good job. The old low tech spray is what you want.

Spray it down, and an hour or so later, do a light sanding and then spray it again. If you balsa has a bad case of whiskers, it may take three applications go get them knocked down.
