The new interlink unit will plug to your USB port and will have a lead to plug into your JR/Futaba/etc radio. It will give you BOTH an interface for your TX AND a dummy controller (to let the kids/brother/etc use!)
I'm not sure i understand your frustration; however. Why not leave the cord plugged into your printer port and simply plug in your JR radio when you're ready to fly?
