Default When to lean out

I have a DA-50R that runs strong and has about 2 1/2 gallons through it. The low end is a bit rich and the high end seems to be right on. There's a point on the throttle curve where a slight bump of the throttle pushes the RPMs up by about 1,200 RPM. I suspect the low end mixture is the culprit. Is it safe to lean out the low end to where it should be given I have under 3 gallons through it?

Thanks!
