RE: ST S61 K-piston position?
I had an earlier post on this same engine, as to what may have caused the piston/ring to break. One theory was the ring didn't have adequate 'gap'. Should 'pre-fit' the ring. I'm not sure where these replacement parts are coming from, and therefore the QC issue. Yes, I did use a new copper gasket/shim in the head. A pic of the broken piston/ring:
