RE: Yellow P-38 build thread
Engine mount (cont)
Not getting a whole lot done:
1. it's low 90's out in the shop
2. getting ready for our big air show at the Butler county airport this weekend.
We use 100+ planes to put on a show for the local community.
A full size B-25 is expected there.
pic 1:
The new, slimmer (left in picture), white carb extension replacing the old brown carb extension.
Dick Bennett has these: comes with new shorter screws.
pic 2:
Carb re-attached with slimmer extension.
The one negative is the throttle/choke is rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise so the double linkage shown in the picture needs to be used. Also sold by Dick Bennett.
The cup standoff is replaced by the 1 1/16" long new standoffs that were drilled and tapped.
pic 3:
Holes marked and drilled to secure the standoffs from the inside of the firewall.
pic 4/5:
A 2 dollar flashlight from odd-lots.
Seems bright enough for the single landing light that will be put on the left wing.
pic 6:
The 4th battery holder came in today from radio shack.
All four are connected in series with three soldering studs for 2,3 or 4 batteries in series giving me (at 1.2 volts per battery), 2.4, 3.6 or 4.8 volts to power each of the different LED's of white, red and blue plus the landing light.

Those Zinger 3-blades look good!
