Default All Seagull Model owners, Please help!

I posted this awhile back but I guess I just need some better clarification on this, better safe than sorry. I am done with my Seagull Extra 260 ARF and I need to get this balancing thing straight before the first flights. First off, all the other ARF's I have built have just given the CG measured from the leading edge of the wing near the fuse, and with that I use a Great Planes CG machine and usually invert the aircraft for low-wingers. The directions for the Seagull state to measure from the wing tips 7-8 CM. I figured I needed a helper to lift the plane up at each wingtip at the measured locations. The directions do not really say. I did this but I have a bad feeling that this is wrong and do not feel comfortable with the balance. Can someone that has balanced one of these birds give me a step by step, at least to make me feel like I did do the right thing.

Is it possible to even use a CG machine (wife isnt the best helper)? I figured mabey I could measure back to the fuse and then mark, invert the plane and use the CG machine?

I am sure that is a seemingly dumb question but I dont like flying my planes untill I am 100% sure that I did everything in my power that I was supposed to.
