Some pics of the day at the park with the GWS Estarter and the TREX. It was too windy for anything else. Jacki got her first maiden in and made about 3 circuits, then landed like she had been flying all her life. She then took off again and flew a couple more loops with another perfect landing. I then rassled the TX out of her hand and was able to fly awkwardly yet make a graceful landing as the wind had really picked up. Her last flight ended in a heap from about 30 ft up and a awesome nosedive directly into the ground. Broke the prop and pulled the landing gear out of the fuselage and broke some bits off the wing.
I then flew the TREX for about 9 minutes and about lost it, the thing got caught in a gust and came straight at me. I ducked and it went over my head about 5 ft above me and was heading for a grass knoll right behind me. I managed to give it plenty of throttle and collective and just missed the hill by a few feet. It took about a full minute to get it back to where I had control and spent the rest of the time hovoring..........heh.
We got some vid with my camera but its in .mov format (QuickTime) and I can't find a converter on the net to change the format to .mpeg so I can upload them to either here or Youtube. anyone know of a free converting program out there?

Sounds like you two had a blast (LOL). Nice pics. Well, you didn't schmuck the T-Rex...that's good. Now you gotta get hers going again (LOL). Sooooooo.......is she hooked?
Our names are Tracy and Jacki....we're R/Caholics

I got the tail stuff today and slapped it on. My fears on the project bird came to pass. #1. Not enough lift (I'm thinking 450 motor or an 11T pinion on the 3900kv motor here with a 11.1v 1800mah 15C...that'll take care of the lift problem). #2. No rudder control and it won't hold. That's gotta be a setup problem. It's acting like the gyro isn't even working but the tail motor is. Wants to swing tail to the right so the motor isn't putting out enough to push it left at all. Maybe it's just not enough propeller either. I tried it both ways...Esky gyro, and through the Eflite 3-1...it's just not there. I know the main blades need to be a tad longer too. Back to the drawing board Egor. Might have to run the tail motor (coreless) thru an ESC...dunno yet. It's do-able, just gonna take some engineering here. Hummmmmm....maybe a 180 motor on the tail?
