Tim, just looking at the photo you posted it looks like there are some definite difference. You could probably kit bash one into the other if the wing shape was the same, but at the very least it looks like the ailerons are different and it seems likely that the wing outline is also different. And of course the rudder is different -- and most likely also the elevator. You'd have to be rebuilding the nose as well.
