Default RE: Wheeeeeeee.......... Blade CP!

Noah,

I saw this post, and I have to agree with you and Crashcrash, in a weird kind of love for the hobby. I had the Blades, all of them, the CX, CX2, CP and the Pro. I moved on to the Trex and HBK2, those are the only two I have now. It's kinda like cars, bikes, boats etc.
We always seem like a need for a change in life. I too, sometimes miss the old Blades, but don't regret moving up. The HBK2 is an affordable link to the performance of a Trex, only a tad smaller, not much. As Crashcrash mentioned, it's not that great out of the box. Needs the brushless motor, blades are acceptable. And still less cost than a Pro with a brushless. I just finished building my second HBK2 with the 3800kv bl motor, an 11 tooth pinion and a telebee gyro. Man Oh Man, it's as stable as the Trex. Don't forget, whatever heli you have, mechanical setup is imparitive(spelling).

A Change in Life: Always been a city boy, in 2 years, myself and Liz (Mrs. Rule) are moving to the country, bar none. Attached is a picture of my oldest daughters house looking out the back 40 (she's 30 yo) and I'm jealous. You can look North, East and West and see the same. There closest neighbor is one mile away, and 15 miles from the closest store/town.

Need anything, let us know,

Dave / Choppersrule

OK quick point: Anyone who says the blade cp heli are good for nothing can go fly a kite. This little heli planted the seed in me that has grown into a monster. Well and everyone here has helped create this monster too. And I love it!!! This is what the bcpp has lead to for me....I'm becomming a heli [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5974113/tm.htm]NUTCASE[/link] and I love it. Still crossing my fingers to win that 600n pro. I will always keep this little bcpp. I love the little guy and wont ever let anyone take it away....

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee.......bcpp

I gotta admit....I sorta miss mine, but I don't miss working on it. I'm running 2 HBKII's and unless I crash or hit....I seldom wrench on either of them...they just fly. In the blade CP/CPP favor...I can set up a heli perfectly because of the working on my CPP. The HBKII has problems out of the box too. Personally...I think the stock rotor blades are a joke. The stock motor and ESC are junk out of the box too and going brushless is mandantory. The final real defect in the HBKII is the inherient tendency to throw the belt which requires installing a taller brass shim and re-drilling the pin hole on the main shaft higher so the belt/pulley are properly aligned. After you get it properly set up...it works flawlessly. I spend time charging batteries and flying...not figuring out what's wrong. The HBKII electronics are pretty reliable other than some glitching once in a while with the stock radio system just like the Eflite stuff. If nothing else, owning the CP series will make you a good troubleshooter and heli mechanic.
