Default RE: IDENTIFY THIS PLANE PLEASE

I had a Cap 21 and they got a bad reptutaion for snapping over on take off. This was not a plane design flaw, but rather a PILOT ERROR flaw. The Caps raise their tails up almost emediatly on power being applied. As most every pilot who flies a " tail dragger " plane, feels that once the tail is off the ground that the plane is at flying speed. NOT SO with the Caps! Due to the Caps main gear setting in the wing near the CG,they lift their tails faster then normal.

Here is a simple and HIGHLY effective way to correct the "Snap 21's " death snap on take off. Simply move the main gear forward to the fuse bottom 1/2 to 1.5 inches in front of the wing. No more tail raising until the plane actually is at correct flying speed. It doesn't affect the planes manuver capebabilities at all,but saves you from scratching your head as to why it Snapped over on takeoff.

Good Flying
