You know that is a good question because when we were flying ducted fan there was never any more mention of a jet crash than anything else just another plane hitting the ground hard. Now that we have turbines that do have the risk of fire, even though the speed isnt any more than it used to be everyone points out when a jet has an issue so i would say maybe it is that but it doesnt even take a crash, it could be a runway incident and it still gets attention..
