A well equipped Trex 450 (micro) will cost you in excess of $600 RTF minus Transmitter.
A well equipped Raptor 50 (Nitro) will cost you around $1200 RTF minus transmitter.
I know, I bought one of each of those in the last 2 years.
No assembly manual will teach everything you need to know to set-up and maintain a helicopter. I recommend this book:
