RE: small gas engine
Well, it is a Racing Engine and thus expensive. In fact we have just had a discussion on other forums and we came to some
kind of conclusion that the Price of Fuel is what sets the Decision Point, to go or not to Gas. For me Gas makes sense for
displacements in the range of at least 50cc and better at 80cc because I use only Methanol and Castor oil and mix the
fuel myslef. For ready made fuel & frequent flyiers the people find 26cc is the point where one should pay the cost of
the Gas related ignition and other things(problems!). Thus, following what you mention, the Cost, I believe Gas is not
your friend at those small displacements anyway. In fact Webra had 10cc Gas engine but it somehow was without
customers. Beside the Ignition, Valbro Carb is not cheap nor light either...
Some guys also try to use gasoline on glow-plug engies ... I tried that some 30 years ago when I was at their age
and the result was good for the circus ... Flames, Explosions and broken engine at the end ...
Well, maybe Ethanol when established as fuel would bring a "third" dimension on this topic.
