High temps and rich running are classic symptoms of an air leak. However, 270 in and of itself is not an outrageous temp. Most people will say keep it under 250, some even say over 230 is bad, but it's old wives tales. I say tune it for performance first, then check temps, if it's under 290, go for it, but keep an eye on it.
