I have a 1/5 D-VII that I plan to put this engine in since I already have it and it is in the recommended range. However, it's too long when mounted at the original firewall. By removing the points at the back and mounting it flush (with iso-mounts if needed) it will fit without having to do any bashing. To do this will require converting it to electronic ignition and by doing that some weight can be eliminated. Is this "going too far"?. Thanks for your comments.
