RE: Yellow P-38 build thread
Spitfire tires and rims.
Gotta' get my new wheels on for this week end's flying!
As with the P-38, I used the vise to hold one side of the rim and that board (in the picture) with the two center punches in it, to turn one side of the rim onto the other. These rims were tighter than the P-38 and I found a little oil on the threads helped tremendously to screw the two rims together (hopefully, the oil doesn't allow the rims to work loose!).
Those new rims/tires look much better than the old plastic ones shown in the bottom of the picture.
