Kv is used for motors and kV is used for electricity. Best way I can describe it.

And yes Vic is correct, some manufacturers list their brushless motors with turns while others as Kv. Personally I like the Kv number, because if you open a brushless motor up, you can't count the turns in the can. And I can't use my speed spreadsheet either.
