More float questions
Hey guys,
Going to buy my first set of floats, and I also need a new plane now (big accident on the weekend).
I'm looking at the following planes:
Hangar 9 - Super Stick 40 ARF
Great Planes - Easy Sport .40 MkII
Great Planes - Big stik 40
Hangar 9 - Twist 3d
I imagine the Twist would be a bad choice for a float plane, but it always gets such good reviews. Which plane would you recommend (I got my wings 3 weeks ago and just started into acrobatics), a .40 engine will be used.
Also, I was looking at float designs, etc, and I was wondering if it was possible to mount a fin at the end of a wire and put it on the nosegear, and then install the floats with the existing landing gear plus adding another set of landing wires (from my old plane). I don't know if I explained that well, but basically steering would be done by a fin near the front of the floats.
Is this a bad idea and is it common?
Thanks!
