Default RE: YOKOMO?

I just think that for what your getting, Yokomo is a tad over priced. The basic drift kit doesnt even ship with bearings or a rear spool which are the first 2 upgrades that you'll need to do. I know the brand new Yok kits are now shipping with both spool and bearings but thats only because Yokomo finaly have to pick up their game as the other manufacturers have started releasing some drift kits of their own which are considerably cheaper for someone starting out.

These days I'm noticing alot more Ta05's (Tamiya), TC04's (Associated) and Mi3's (Schumacher) at the drift meets than Yokomo and when ever you ask someone who had a Yokomo and runs something else now why, they always say the same 2 things " Couldnt get parts and its too expensive".

Also I dont think that comparing a Yok drift kit to a TT01 is a fair comparison since the TT01 is aimed purely at the beginner and doesnt have much adjustability in terms of camber, caster, droop etc which can all be adjusted on a Yok. To me the Yokomo's are aimed more at the person looking to move on from the TT01. Someone who now wants more adjustability and the ability to upgrade parts for performance as their skill grows.

I guess the best way to answer the original question in this thread is to say, Yes, Yokomo are good drifters but then the truth is any 4wd touring chassis can be turned into a good drifter with the right tires and dampers.
