That's probably what they did. But, there's alot of cutting on the frame to get that drive gear above the main gear. (weakens the frame) Then belt guides have to be mounted to guide the belt into the tailboom. Tailboom has to be larger diameter to accomodate the belt and long enough to take up the slack.

The first tail boom strike with the main blade will really mess things up. Its gotta be straight.
