Default RE: Dave Platt Spitfire

Don't quote me, but I believe the retracts were in the $250 to $350 range back in the 1980's.
The plans were about $45. The spinner was about $40. All of the fibre glass parts, ie. wing fillets, oil coolers, cockpit interior, static 4 blade prop came to about $100+.
I have the spinner for the 4 blade dummy prop and the 4 blade dummy prop. I may even have the spinner for the functional prop lying around somewhere.
I cut the kit myself so I don't have any idea of what the kit cost was. Financially, times were tough for me. I thought I'd save money!
It didn't work that way. I built it piecemeal and it took 2 years. I should have bought Dave's kit.
I spoke to Dave on a couple of occasions. He is a great guy. He's easy to talk with and very friendly. Maybe you could give him a short call and ask what he thinks is a fair market value.
Best wishes, Ron
