Theres the answer. see that diff on the rught. The planetary gears have different pitches. So they have boundup and made the center spin twice as fast. Ta da, your spares have gotten mixed up between your buggies and truggy.
These are from a Mayhem ST. And yes bit of a mix between the buggy and truggy. But only difference is the number of teeth on the Diff gear on the mayhems. This was Center Diff that was melting. All the internal Diff gears are the same on the mayhem front/rear and Center only difference is the number of teeth on diff gear and spur gear. You can mix and match any of the diffs AS LONG AS YOU USE the correct Diff gears front and Rear.
Like I said in the above post once we caught the Outer hinge pin that the e-clip had come off of have not had a problem with it since. Live and Learn. Bought 4 new diff houseings and just rebuild the diffs. Good as New.
PS. I should have mentioned that weekend NO ONE not even Scotty Ernst had ever seen anything like this before.
