I would suggest getting a Bolink electic buggy as a starter until your mechanical skills improve.
I am a mechanic by trade for 10 + years so that rules that out.
Ive been in and out of electric/nitro RC since I was 12, I am now 29.
Its no lack of skill, its Redcats lack of quality control/customer support.
I finally decided Id invested enough in the Redcat and cut my losses.
I plan to use the Redcat parts to make a shelf queen full tube frame buggy this winter.
