RE: Help with HOB 2X4 sailplane and nitro engine
you can still get cox 049 TDs if you look around . there are other fun options as well and most will have throttle. i really recomend the power pod route as it fits under the wing rubber bands and doesn't change CG. this way you can still use it for non motored fun.
try glow sticks or LED lights at night[sm=what_smile.gif] we stick the glowsticks on with clear tape out on the wing tips so they are visable from top and bottom. one for the tail as well. you need at least three to be able to tell if the bird is level in flight. the red and blue glow stick are not to bright, we like the old fasion color as it shows up better.
i just finished and recently maidened a 99" butterfly power glider with to sets of lights glow wire and LED separate systems.
this plane is a classic its been around for decades. it is SOOOO slow i thought it would fall out of the air on its first launch it was that slow! mine has a 25 magnum on the nose. it is slow but will climb like a home sick angel into the wind under power.
I hollered "DEAD STICK " the first time it ran out of gas the guys just gave me "the bird".... well I was around 300 plus feet up!
