First, welcom to the hobby and to this site. The guys and gals on this site are very helpful. I just learned to fly this year and this site has been very helpful to me. I would suggest you find a local club and talk to their instructors. You will probably need an instructor to help you learn to fly whatever plane you decide on. Tell them what planes you are considering and listed to their advise. There are advantages and disadvantages to both electric and Glow or Nitro trainers. While electric seems cheaper at first, you will need to purchase additional batteries, a good battery charger, and other equipment that can make the price comparable to going glow with all of the needed field accessories. Your instructor can help you make the right choice for you.
