Going to speak to those at your local hobby club is an excellent suggestion. They will be more than happy to guide you.

My first plane was an Electristar....in MY opinion. I would advise against it for cost reasons. I could have gotten started with a glow trainer and accessories for half the cost of the Electristar, Batteries and charger.

THe Superstar is a nice plane. Ive seen ti fly with a .40 size engine and its too weak....try a Super Tiger 45. Great performance for the price( I got one AFTER having an overpriced OS and love it.)

Take a look at the Sig Kadet LT-40. Its a great plane and trainer. Its large(visibility up high), very well built(sturdy), great covering job(just looks nice). It flies very stable...and you can really slow this thing down for easy landings.


If you would go either way -glow or electric - I say start with glow. You will be able to begin for less money and see if you truly like the hobby and the challenges that come with it.
