The Avistar is a great trainer, and capable of keeping you occupied far past the basic training stages. The .40LA that comes with it will do the job of training, but, put a stong .45-.46 in it and she will turn into a whole different bird. I received the Avistar RTF as a gift and it was basically my second plane. I liked it with the .40LA to get used to its charictoristics, but I put a .46AX up front and LOVED IT! Unfortunately, due to my own doing, she is no longer with us. But I plan on getting a new Avistar ARF, do some mods, and resume terrorizing the skies with it.
