The mount in the pics looks correctly positioned to me for a Cub. The tank would wind up below the cockpit windows if its properly sized and installed. What's the real problem here that you're trying to fix? When you start screwing around with thrust lines, you're gonna have to start screwing around with other things too. The F/F power guys have known that for 50 years.
