Default RE: Clicking steering servo. Help Requested

I have used hundreds of servos in my time and all the broken ones are kept in a box in my workshop for spare parts, I have allsorts in there incl. Ace, Bluebird, Futaba, JR Propo, but by far the most frequent brand placed in there is Hitec, and there is a reason. They use parts that are being asked to work right up the the limit of their specs, as in a servo with 14 lbs/ft of torque witll be fitted with a motor rater at 14lbs/ft. This is bad engineering as there is no safety margin. A company like Ko Propo adds at least 20% into the motors sterength, so a servo of 14lbs/ft will infact be capable of 16lbs 10oz lbs/ft. This would be when the Hitec has either burnt out the motor or stripped it's gears.

Then the high end Hitecs aregeting better, but as they cost the same as the Ko Propos and I knw Ko have a far better customer care policy, it's certainly a no brainer for me.
