Looks like you are making the mistake of confusing the number of views with the number of people viewing the thread.
With threads like this the two tend to be hugely different, as the same people read the thread multiple times. For instance, I have viewed the thread when you first put it up, plus each time a response was posted - which makes 10 views. With several people likely doing the same, 70 actual votes is actually a pretty respectable response rate out of 500 views.
