I have been doing a lot of reading on hydrofoils and foil assissted catamarans.
Has anyone had a go at this in model boats.
The boat I have is an older GP Wildcat, it is very similar in hull size and shape to the ProBoat Apache EP 24.
The idea is to fit a between hulls foil just forward of the c.o.g and pitch stabilising ( small ) foils at the rear of the tunnel.
My only concern is that it may offer more of the tunnel to the air and cause blowover.
However if the boat raises in a uniform manner, which is the plan, then the angle of attack is not altered so therefore the effective lift should not be altered.
Fair enough that the opening size is increased but the exit is also increased proportionally so therefore there should also be no increase in air pressure under the centre section.
Anyone want to fire in an idea or opinion ??? Positive, negative, funny........they are all welcome.
