To answer your question better, I think with my cogging experience with the 6.5R motor plugged into the MM esc, I am sure the HV motor will have the same problems. The 6.5R reached 160'F, the MM reached 180'F and the battery (3s lipo) went up to 120'F. All within 3-5 minutes. It stuttered and cogged like hell, which is why the heat went through the roof.
The XL motors are a better deal, though yes they aren't the top of the line, they work great! I have the 7XL on 3S lipo w/ MM esc and it hauls.
