I have a 63" wingspan extra 300s. The top is ok for visibility but the bottom is all red. I have purchased a couple long sheets of white. Now, would l you stripe the wing verticaly and elevator alike? Or would incorporate a swooping design on the wingtips and elevator tips and leave the center red?
Whichever will be more visibale I want to do, ya know
Years ago I made sketches of the bottom wing of many airplanes at the field with notes about visibility when in the air and at distance. MiniFlyer is correct. Wide stripes are more visible and too many colors will blend at distance. White and dark blue stripes running front to back and 4 or more inches wide were the most visible to me. Red and white were also good. I prefer the bottom of the fuselage to be white and the tip stripe to be the predominant color and smaller than the other stripes.
Your eyes may view colors differently. It costs nothing to observe other airplanes at the field before making a decision.
