Default Trainer reccomendations

My all time favorite is the Midwest Aerostar kit. Also an ARF of the Aerostar is available from Falcon Trading co. Also for around $100 you can get the Hangar 9 Solo Sport pictured below. I have been instructing with the middle SS for 3 years now and it is a great flyer. I would highly recommend the OS 40 LA for your first engine (unless you choose the Sig LT-40 which is a bigger plane, then I would say OS 46FX). A lot of people are going to disagree with me here, but you don't need a rocket when you are trying to learn. Over powered trainers just prolong the time it is going to take you to solo. On 15% the LA has plenty of power and you can't find a more user friendly / reliable engine.
