Hi, I've just joined the forum in the hope that some of you can help me out.

A friend bought my 13 year old son a little 2 channel P51. Neither of us could get it to do more than climb, stall and crash! Anyway, he (we?) quite enjoyed mucking about with it and he mentioned that it was a shame we couldn't get it to work as he would have enjoyed flying.

I would like to get a 3 channel RTF electric plane and I've looked around the net and seen loads of them, but I have NO idea what to get. If you read the blurb that every manufacturer says about their planes, then every single one of them is the best for a beginner, with the best flying time bla bla bla.

I actually live and work in Saudi Arabia (expat) and the compound we live on doesn't have a park or football field or anything large outdoors. The largest area we have is indoor tennis courts - two courts side by side with quite a bit of room all around. It would be a big enough space to fly something on the smaller side, maybe 2ft(ish) wingspan.

So... What do I get? What RTF has 3 channel with a pretty good flying time, like 10-15 minutes? What are the difference in batteries? What's a good motor and what's junk? What will handle a few prangs and what'll go in the bin after the first crash?

Any help would be really appreciated guys. I used to fly a million years ago when I was a "young fella" but everything's changed so much that when I tried reading about it on the net, I don't know what the hell they're talking about most of the time!!
