You have the picture, except that I don't use straight Nitrate for doping the panels. Instead, I thin the dope 50/50 and do the panels with this mix. You will probably need to give the panels about 3 coats to completely fill the weave. Fot doping the framework, I use a camel hair brush (fairly soft) about 3/8" wide. For doping the panels, I use a, "Chip brush"...the cheapest kind that you can buy (nylon bristles) and trim it down until the bristles are only about 1" long. You want to be able to force the dope into the weave. The brush that I use is 1 1/2" in width. You can get them at any home supply store for about a buck each.
