Default RE: how long can a .16 Vertex High Quality Engine last?

ORIGINAL: kraffty

Id love to get 5-8 gallons. I have a stock .26 with 2 gallons and a new surefire .32 with 1 gallon and both worn out...no compression. And no im not stupid and running them lean either. I have been flying aircraft for 40 years and NEVER have worn an engine out. Apparently car engines do not last.
so i guess car engine and aircraft engine brake in and tuned differently. i had several engines and only one died (after very long time). most engines will run 6-8 galons before starting to loose comprasion.
