That's what I thought when I read the instructions. It is not real obvious, here is what it says "When cutting unnecessary flanges of your servo, cut them using a coping saw etc.. Excessive force to servo flanges may brake the servo case."

P.S. Yes, they used the word "brake" instead of "break".
