a first hand observation TF kits are fun to build and tend to come out heavy,and mine at least cost about 750-1,000$ complete not including the multitude of hours spent building.
H-9 planes fly well,easy to take off and land,look good flying,definatly there's a bit of the ooh and aah factor when I fly mine at our field.
require a small time investment to assemble and are less expensive to get going.

if you go with the stock planes,I use OS91 fs engines which are a little less $ than sato or YS,they fly great with that powerplant and there a good forgiving group of planes in general.
I really like the P-40,and Mustang I have, absolutely no complaints.
