That setup will work great for a beginner but personally I would make a few changes. The 50 V2 is now called the Titan 50 (if your buying new), the V2's have been discontinued, I would go with JR or Futaba radio gear just for the simple reason there are a lot more people using them so if you need help setting up your radio chances are you will find help a lot easier. I'm not saying Airtronics isn't a good product, it's just a lot "more" people use JR and Futaba.
