I'm putting together an order to replace my lost trainer. Because of my funds being low I was going to get the OS .46LA. It is out of stock so my next option would be the GMS .46. 2 bucks more. In your opinion what is the better engine? I'm putting it on another Tower trainer.
Thanks for your help.

P.S. This order does include the airplane finder
There is nothing wrong with the GMS .46.
It's a GREAT engine. It is FAR more powerful than the OS .46LA by a large factor.
GMS manufactures Tower Hobbies engines too.
Get it, clamp down the carb with a soft vise grip and then tighten the carb hold down screw. This is a must to avoid airleaks, that are the primary cause of problem reports with this engine.
Don't change the settings as it comes out of the box.
It will start up just fine the way it is.
Run a couple of tanks through it at whatever speed it will hold ( usually not full throttle at optimal RPM's out of the box... ).
Then carefully adjust the needles. Usually 1/4 turn movement is more than enough to get it right. The needles are a bit sensitive.
Run a couple of more tanks through it, alternating the engine speeds up and down.
Once down re-tighten all of the cap screws (including the engine head screws!), and carefully retighten the muffler. All of these will work loose after the first runs.
Then go fly...
You'll find it to be a fairly powerful engine, much more so than the SuperTigre, and stronger than the TT's.
BTW: The O.S. are much easier to set up out of the box and are practically ready to run.
However the GMS/TH with the above caveats are great bargains.
