RE: Looking to Run 1/8 scale again
out of your viewed choices, I would go with the Ofna Hyper 8 as it is way much better quality and performance than those others especially those cheap Redcats floating around.
If you are looking to get back in the buggy scene, do it right with quality.
IMO, the Kyosho RTR's are poorly designed and quality is not up to par compared to their kits. It seems like Kyosho took a big step down when they went into the RTR war against other RTR manufacturers but they had to come out with something to be in the game. I tested out their RTR version of the ST truggy and I had put it up forsale the very next day.
When it comes to racing, a large percentage of racers use a starter box. Anything with a pullstart or rotostart is said to cause a bit of hp resistance. RTR's come with those pullstarts or rotostarts as a convenience to the buyer from having to buy a separate starter box.
The Duratrax Raze.....I have never even really scene a Duratrax run ever. That might mean something? Sure they maybe good starters, but I am not sure of performance, quality and durability as well as parts replacement availability.
As far as the other viewed choices, IMO....they are import junk.
