You said cost aside so I will just approach the power standpoint. The MVVS/Evolution 58 on a pipe will beat my 60. Thier claim of over 8hp is BS. But they state it will turn a Mejzlik 24x10 at 6900 on a pipe. That calculates to 6.94hp on Pe Reviers calculator. A far cry form the 8.5hp claimed at 6950, but still higher than my 60. If the MVVS is not on a pipe, I do not know. Those engines seem to suffer quite a bit without a pipe. But from a brute torq standpoint, the MVVS will win. The 60 hits its power band at a higher RPM so a 23" prop is far better for it. It is capable of well over 10K rpm without any damage.
