Default Engine now has far too much compression. Why?

Just brought a 1/8 scale nitro monster truck, with a 15cxp engine. Done the runin, gone through 5 tanks of fuel, motor starts sweet and runs realy well. Problem now is that the engine now has too much compression and needs to be started with the glow plug loose. ie at least two full turns anti-clockwise loose. Why is this. Would this cause any problems. Fuel is now spitting during running, obvious to the loose glowie.
