RE: Futaba Radio Jet Users Questions
I am using the 9155 digital servos in my Flash. The stab servo pockets are limited to a servo no larger than the 8411, and the 9155 fit. Beware that some Futaba servos should only be run on a 4.8 volt system, so I buy servos that can handle 6.0V. Futaba servos specs tell which voltage can be used. I use dual 6.0V batteries and no regulators.
I have found only 1 issue with a futaba servo in my jets. The analog, but powerful 3305 does not center consistantly, and shows higher than usual amperage draw around center (I've checked 6 of them). Free or disconnected linkage does not seem to matter. This is likely the reason Futaba does not recommend that servo in airplanes.
I have converted all prop planes including giant scale gas to FASST 2.4. No issues so far. I am running 72 mhz synthesized 9C Tx and synthesized Rx in my 2 jets. I am waiting for the larger 2.4 receivers and modules then I will convert the jets to FASST as well.
