Doug, your memory is correct. I am using Spektrum, and that's a great idea! I'll investigate this tonight. I know I have that manual somewhere...

Jeff, as usual, you have a good idea. I should have known you'd have tried this first on your Persh. I bought a pair of Graupner 480's and am going to install them. I don't know the no-load rpm of the stock 380 Johnson motors, so I'm unsure of the speed after the motor upgrade. FYI, as to pinion gears, I had a hard time finding 10t 3.17mm (1/8 inch) pinion gears, but finally found some. I wish they had the set screw, but they are slip fit, secured by green loctite. I just got the loctite (had a heck of a time finding it too) I don't know how the new motors will affect the speed though.

I'll do before and after comparisons and post the results for each mod I try.
