Okay I'm confused by this one...
I got a programmer about six months ago when I started using some of the Hitec digital servos. I works flawlessly on the 5985's and the 5955 I've used it on.
The problem is that I got two new 5625's for the throttle/choke on a new gasser and those have been giving me fits trying to get them programmed.
Both servos exhibit similar behaviour although not exactly the same. When trying to perform a reset, I'll get several "fail"s and if I keep hitting the button, they eventually reset. Then when setting the neutrals and end points, one servo dutifully displays the appropriate numbers and takes the settings, but when I exit out of that menu, the thing won't work on the manual test. If I try to get into that function again, it will drive the servo past the 60 degree sweep on one end and lock there until I shut off the programmer. If I reset it and try again it will usually work. Tried playing with it quite a bit last night and it seems to be working right now.
The other servo flashes four digit numbers interspersed with the correct number range when trying to set the neutral and travel limits, but once set with the appropriate numbers, it seems to work. If I try to reset that servo, sometimes it will work on the first try, other times it will take three or four attempts after displaying a "fail" screen.
After a substantial amount of messing around with them last night, I've got them working where I want them but it makes me wonder if there is something I'm missing here or if it's just a quirk with that model servo?
I've not used a lot of Hitec servos, but these two 5625's are the first of that particular model and were purchased new less than a month ago. I find it really hard to believe that I've got two bad servos right out of the box.
Got any ideas?
