Default RE: Hobbico Nexstar Float Plane

Hi Harold,
Sorry to hear about your takeoff issues. Once I made my mods, there have been no issues with the plane. Takeoffs are no issue either with or without flaps. I use full up elevator until on step and then relax the elevator until at takeoff speed. I hope you can solve your issues with the plane because it is a very nice flying float plane. I probably have 16 flights on it at the moment from water - and many many takeoffs and touch n gos. BTW, the floats on mine are flat bottomed - not scale looking.

I hope you don't get too discouraged and forget about floats. Keep at it!! Before you know it, you'll be able to fly from snow!!

Scott,
Thanks for the info about your problem. Not certain how your issue occurred. Seems like if the two wing panels are tight against the plastic joiner, it shouldn't be able to happen but I intend to take a close look at mine just in case! A friend that has been flying his for several years (from land) has not reported this problem. Maybe I'll epoxy one side in just in case! After all, most wing panels of this size are joined permanently.

Joe
